With just 3 weeks to go, ESL has announced the remaining ESL Pro League teams for the upcoming Season 14 of the event. As well as the bad news that the tournament will take place online, as teams vie for their share of the $750,000 prize pool.

To start with, the following teams were confirmed some time ago, as the 'partnered' teams; NIP, Vitality, Natus Vincere, Astralis, fnatic, ENCE, Evil Geniuses, Complexity, Liquid, mousesports, G2 & FaZe. Also pre-confirmed were teams that got through regional ESEA Premier tournaments, which were Bad News Bears, Sinners, Entropiq, Renegades & TeamOne.

However, it's now been announced who got through based on the current ESL ranking, those are; OG, FURIA, Spirit, Gambit, Heroic, Virtus.pro & BIG.

The tournament begins on the 16th of August and runs through until September 12th, with the teams totaling 24 this promises to be a large bout between giant teams. During the break, we can also expect some shuffling of the teams with the likes of fnatic actually needing a shuffle as they've only got 3 players at present, although it has recently been touted that fnatic are planning to go to an international squad, after benching JW & Golden. Some reports suggest that fnatic have approached 'mezii' & 'ALEX' to fill those gaps, but we'll have to wait for official announcements to be certain there. One change we know of for sure so far, is that Complexity has acquired the likes of es3tag, formerly of both Astralis & Cloud9 and benched RUSH. Complexity have also taken the time to bag themselves a new coach in the form of 'peacemaker'.

ESL previously announced that Malta would be the location of a LAN base to host the tournament out of, however, they've now been forced to change that to online play. ESL has assured viewers that despite this tournament reverting back to online play, they are hoping that the next event organized by them, which is currently likely to be IEM Fall, will go to LAN play once again.
