For Nigma Galaxy, it's two for two. With the ladies team pulling a flawless performance throughout the event, dropping not a single map in their 4 matches, an improvement over their already impressive run at ESL Impact League Season 1 Finals last month.
Much like the previous event, the two final teams were Nigma Galaxy and FURIA fe, although this time Nigma were able to 1 up their previous performance and took the match 2-0, rather than 2-1. FURIA fe were unable to keep pace with Nigma Galaxy from the start, with the Brazillian squad never being able to put two and two together and figure out how to blast past the strategies Nigma were putting up, going 16-8 on Dust2, and 16-11 on Vertigo. Earlier on in the series Nigma had downed MIBR fe also in relatively fast fashion, being sank on the exact same maps Nigma would play in the finals, 16-10 & 16-5 across Vertigo & Dust2.
All teams who entered ESL Impact Valencia have gone home with some money, varying from $2000 up to $50,000. Mindfreak & GODSENT fe had disappointing runs, coming in 7th & 8th, but still take home $2,000. CLG Red & BIG EQUIPA were 5th & 6th with $3,000, and third and fourth were NAVI Javelins & MIBR fe with a nice $10,000, as we know already FURIA fe were second and were gifted $20,000 for their efforts.
Season 2 of ESL's Impact league, which will continue giving ladies teams long overdue visibility in mainstream Counter-Strike esports will begin in August and run until October, with a prize pool of $150,000 and 24 teams all competing for the lions, or should we say, lionesses share of the pool of cash. The majority if not all of the teams who took part in Impact Valencia are expected to also be in Season 2, along with plenty of other teams who get through qualifiers to the main finals event.
