Tomorrow, the 21st June, twenty teams will start an 8 day battle, but only one will win the $40,000 prize and a place where all the winners qualify for one final showdown, LAN Sweet LAN.

The 20 teams have, for the most part, been decided. The only ones to be announced are the four teams that will receive a direct invite to the quarter-finals stage, which historically in these ReLog Media events have a great shot of winning that event. However, for the other 16, they will have either received an invite to the playoffs, which starts with a swiss round to determine the round of 16, or earned their placement here through the Regionals event played earlier in the month.

The announced teams that will play from the round of 16 onwards are, in no particular order; Budapest Five, Young Ninjas, Iberian Family, ALTERNATE aTTaX, Sharks, AGO, Copenhagen Flames, MIBR, 1WIN, Galaxy Racer, EXTREMUM, Endpoint, Fiend, Anonymo, HYENAS & Lyngby Vikings. Also announced is the initial set of matches and the schedule going forwards, where all matches will be a Best of 3, including the Grand Final. With the exception of the final day, matches are to start from 07:00 GMT/UTC, with the last match of the day starting by 16:00. The schedule is as follows;

21st June, initial matches;

  • AGO vs 1WIN
  • Fiend vs Lyngby Vikings
  • Anonymo vs Young Ninjas
  • Galaxy Racer vs Sharks
  • EXTREMUM vs Budapest Five
  • MIBR vs Iberian Family
  • ALTERNATE aTTaX vs Copenhagen Flames

22nd June until 25th June

  • Swiss Rounds 2 to 5 for all teams.

28th June

  • Playoffs Round 1 (Round of 16)

29th June

  • Quarter-Finals

30th June

  • Semi-Finals
  • Grand Final

With such a spread of teams, of varying pedigree and expectations, this event is one of the harder ones to try making calls for so far this year. However, whoever the winners are, the previous winners of these ReLog Media events are waiting eagerly for the next competitor to face them, those being forZe, FunPlus Phoenix, HAVU, mousesports & OG. Where a prize pool of $250,000 is on offer, much greater than these smaller and frequent events currently occurring. The final event will have 16 teams, with 3x Sun Sweet Sun events coming up, and then 3x Fall Sweet Fall events to determine 6 other winners, with a final 4 invites.
