forZe have today taken victory over EPG Family, winning $44,000 and a place at the LAN Sweet LAN finale scheduled for early next year!
EPG Family proved a hit at the event, where they went 2-0 in all their matches, never dropping a map until forZe smashed straight through their defenses and ruined the win streak they had built up. Fresh out of ESA Premier, the team took on and took down MAD Lions, SKADE, Extra Salt, SKADE once again, ENCE and fnatic all 2-0.
It took all of forZe's might to take down EPG Family, starting on Overpass, EPG won their map pick 16-13, after the battle went to forZe's pick of Mirage, which they won 16-10. However in the final battle on Dust2, the map went all the way to the 30th round, narrowly avoiding an overtime situation, taking it 16-14, and winning the final 2-1.
The two Russian squads from the CIS region are only proving more and more dominant, as in general the CIS scene is proving to be, with the likes of Natus Vincere, Gambit, Virtus.pro all also coming from the CIS regions. Will this dominant streak continue as events slowly return to live events rather than over the internet? Only time will tell, but at least for now, the old favorites will have to keep on the lookout and be sure to never turn their backs on the CIS teams, as they're here to do business and take as many crowns as they can!
The win here will ensure forZe will be invited to take part in the LAN Sweet LAN competition, where all the former winners of the series will be waiting, all the winners from Snow Sweet Snow 1-3, which were FunPlush Phoenix, mousesports & HAVU will be there, as well as the winners from the three Spring Sweet Spring events, then the 3 Sun Sweet Sun events int he summer, wrapping up with three Fall Sweet Fall events, a further 4 teams will be invited to that finale as well.
