The latest in the DreamHack saga, Open March 2021 will kick off in North & South America today. In North America, the 8 team event features the teams Triumph, Rebirth, Liquid, Extra Salt, High Coast, Bad News Bears, paiN & RBG. Whilst in South America the teams Imperial Esports, Sharks Esports, 9z Team & Havan Liberty will duke it out. The winners from each event will earn a place in the IEM Summer 2021 event.


In North America, the teams have been split into 2 groups of 4 teams each, in South America the 4 teams will jump straight into a double elimination bracket.

All matches in both regions are best of three, except the grand final which are best of 5. In South America, the team who enters the final via the upper bracket will earn a 1-0 advantage at the start, which will not apply to the North American region.

The prize pool on offer is $30,000 for South America, and $70,000 for the North event, as well as that prized invite to IEM Summer 2021. The teams will also earn some points towards their ESL Pro Tour rankings


Stories to keep an eye out at the event include Extra Salt who'll be looking to keep their win streak, currently at 15. There's also the Liquid squad, who are the obvious powerhouse of the whole event, it'll come as a surprise if they fail to perform against the teams on offer. 


The two events start today and then run until the grand finals on the 14th March. The announced early matches so far are, times are UTC/GMT+0;
