With 2 week to go, the line-up is confirmed, the seedings are confirmed, we're all locked in and ready to go!

BLAST have today announced the seedings & initial matches for BLAST Fall Showdown, the all important tournament to decide which two of the teams will be in the running for the giant cash prizes in the Fall Finals in a few months' time.

With 16 teams in the running, it's anyones guess who will go through. Those 16 teams are, in order of seedings, Heroic, G2, Liquid, OG, Complexity, Virtus.pro, Evil Geniuses, Dignitas, Fiend, MAD Lions, Movistar Riders, MIBR, paiN, 9z, Lynn Vision & POGGERZ. With an array of teams, we have plenty of opportunities for huge upsets. The initial sets of matches, using GMT/UTC times are as follows;

Tuesday 12th October;

  • 10:30 - Heroic vs POGGERZ
  • 13:30 - Dignitas vs Fiend
  • 16:30 - Complexity vs MIBR

Wednesday 13th October;

  • 10:30 - Lynn Vision vs G2
  • 13:30 - paiN vs OG
  • 16:30 - Evil Geniuses vs MAD Lions

Thursday 14th October;

  • 13:30 - Virtus.pro vs Movistar Riders
  • 16:30 - Liquid vs 9z

Then following that, the quarter-finals will be at 13:30 & 16:30 on Friday, and 13:30 & 16:30 on Saturday, with the semi-finals, perhaps surprisingly, on the Sunday.

For teams that come 1st & 2nd, they'll receive a $30,000 check, and of course that all-important invite to the Fall Finals, for the other 14 teams however, they leave with nothing except memories, and a handfulof disappointment. The Fall Finals will occur on LAN at an arena event in Copenhagen, where the winner gets $225,000 and a further invite to the BLAST Premier World Final, an event in mid-December where teams the likes of Heroic, Natus Vincere & Gambit have already qualified for. It remains unknown precisely what happens if Heroic go on to get one of those tickets on this event, and then onwards at the Fall Final, given they're already qualified, but from similar events in the past, the invite goes to the runner up, and the money stays with the first team to win.
