Cloud9 AD carry Zven returned to the roster for his first
on-stage match since last month's Mid-Season Invitational. Zven couldn't have
asked for a better opponent for his Summer Split debut than the Golden
Guardians, who are now in last position. Prior to tonight's matchup, the Golden
Guardians had only won six of their 27 games, with one of those triumphs coming
against Cloud9 to start the Summer Split.
The outcome tonight was a far cry from the first time Cloud9
faced Golden Guardians. Cloud9 was able to take a gold lead early in the game
and maintain it throughout the game. The top-side duo of Blaber and Fudge
strung together a few ganks in the early portion of the contest, and from
there, Cloud9 was able to stretch its advantage across the Rift. By the time
the 30-minute mark arrived, Cloud9 had amassed a gold lead of almost 7,000 and
was pounding on the Golden Guardians' base.
Zven, on the other hand, reverted to his natural nature in his Summer Split debut, achieving a KDA of 8.0. According to League data website Games of Legends, Zven had a KDA of 5.4 over the Spring Split.

The biggest issue surrounding Zven heading into tonight's
game was whether he could acclimatise to playing against LCS-level talent after
turning the Academy scene like his own personal stomping grounds over the last
three weeks. According to Games of Legends, Zven lead all players in North
America's minor league with 64 kills and a 10.5 KDA in nine games.
Zven returned to form tonight, duelling the Golden Guardians
bottom lane blow for blow and only dying once—just seconds before C9 took down
the opposing Nexus.
Zven and Cloud9 will return to the LCS stage tomorrow to
face 100 Thieves, a team who slipped past Cloud9 in the standings while Zven
was away.
