Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit, an Australian tactician and content developer, has rejoined Gen.G as a VALORANT head coach, the organization announced September 29th, 2021.

Between December 2019 and January 2021, the 25-year-old served as a CS:GO head coach for the North American organization, and he hasn't competed since Cloud9's CS:GO division was shut down in May. Now that Elmapuddy has made the switch to Riot Games' FPS, he'll be reunited with Kenneth "koosta" Suen, whom he previously mentored in Counter-Strike.

Elmapuddy will arrive in Gen.G in time for the North American VCT 2021 Last Chance Qualifier, which will take place from October 12th to 17th. Since mid-August, after Matthew "mCe" Elmore left the organization following the top-six finish in NA VCT Stage Three Challengers Two in July, the squad has been practicing without a coach.

Elmapuddy remarked in the official announcement that he is incredibly excited to be back and rejoin with koosta back on a roster again. He further said that he is pleased to be teaching in VALORANT because he believes it's a game where coaches can have a big impact because there's less fixed things, players are still figuring out the meta, and agents change all the time.

The addition of the Australian to Gen. G's VALORANT roster ahead of the NA VCT 2021 Last Chance Qualifier isn't the only one. The North Americans benched Michael "MkaeL" De Luca earlier this month and borrowed Nolan "Temperature" Pepper from Evil Geniuses just a few days ago.

Ten teams will compete in the NA VCT Last Chance Qualifier for a seat at VALORANT Champions at the end of the year. If Gen.G wins their first match, they will face C9 Blue in the Round of 10 and then 100 Thieves in the upper-bracket quarterfinals.
