The Call of Duty League announced on June 25th that Stage Five group play will begin on July 8th, 2021. The date has been pushed one week later than it was initially announced. When the 2021 season schedule was released, the Seattle Home series was set to kick off on July 1st. But now, the Seattle hosted event will finish the regular season from July 22nd to July 25th, 2021.

In the United States, the Fourth of July is a national holiday and the CDL is likely to avoid playing matches on that day. The league did not conduct matches on this day in last season either. Due to this delay, Stage Five Major will have to be pushed back one week. The event is assumed to start on July 29th. Although, there is no confirmation on the official date yet.

Due to this postpone of dates, the league will give teams another week for preparation ahead of the fifth and final group stage. Three spots at the end of the season of Call of Duty League Championship remain. No team has officially been eliminated from contention. It will be difficult for the bottom four teams: Paris Legion, Los Angeles Guerrillas, Seattle Surge, and London Royal Ravens. These teams will have a rough road to qualify for the event.

Each team will have to play five round-robin matches in the group stage before proceeding to the final $500,000 Major of the season. A perfect group stage and Major championship will help a team to get 125CDL points. But the feat has been done only by the team Atlanta Faze twice this season.

Below are the groups for Stage Five of the 2021 Call of Duty League season.

Group A:

  • Atlanta FaZe
  • OpTic Chicago
  • New York Subliners
  • Los Angeles Thieves
  • Paris Legion
  • London Royal Ravens

Group B:

  • Minnesota RØKKR
  • Florida Mutineers

Stage Five is scheduled to kick off at 2 PM CT on July 8th, 2021, with first-place FaZe taking on Royal Ravens. They were tied for the last place in the 12-team league.
