In a strong performance versus fellow European import
PowerOfEvil and TSM yesterday, the former Schalke 04 mid-laner took off the
training wheels and racked up five kills on Akali. Abbedagge has brought great
depth to a team that relied on its bottom lane for success last split in just
four games. The squad may now distribute its resources considerably more
effectively across the map.
Abbedagge ended tonight's game with a 6/0/4 score over the course of the 31-minute contest, showcasing characteristics of flexibility and flashiness throughout. According to League of Legends data site Games of Legends, his KDA of 9.2 ranks second among all LCS mid laners—only Team Liquid's Jensen has a higher record of 10.0.
In terms of TSM, yesterday's loss should not cause any
concern among TSM fans. TSM has been relatively consistent when compared to all
of the LCS teams that made head-scratching roster alterations at the start of
the Summer Split. The squad's core starting lineup has remained completely
intact moving into the second half of the season, and the team has reaped the
benefits thus far. TSM remains in first place in the LCS for the first time in
three years, despite tonight's loss, with a 3-1 record this summer and a total
record of 15-7 for the year. To make matters even better, Cloud9 and Team
Liquid, its major adversaries, appear to be in the midst of roster-related
strife.
The result yesterday, though, allows 100 Thieves to get a
little closer to TSM's league-leading position, as the two teams are separated
by just one game going into the weekend. With games against Golden Guardians
and Evil Geniuses to round out their weekend, 100 Thieves will have a chance to
capitalise and make a push for first place, while TSM will square off against
FlyQuest and CLG in an attempt to rapidly get back on track.
