Undying is ready for the biggest stage in Dota 2. To qualify for The International 10, the squad went undefeated through the North American regional qualifiers.
The team spent the entire season battling and chasing Evil
Geniuses and Quincy Crew, concluding in David “MoonMeander” Tan and his squad
winning five straight games versus 4Zoomers.
Undying was an early favorite in the qualifiers and was one of the few teams to give EG and QC a run for their money throughout the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit regional competition, finishing third in both seasons after falling to the region's elite teams. Throughout the competition, the organization swept the field, going 9-0 for a perfect qualification run.
They will now compete against the best teams from around the world for a piece of a prize fund totaling more than $40 million.
Jonathan “Bryle” Santos De Guia and Joná “SabeRLight-” Volek
will be attending TI for the first time. MoonMeander will be making his first
appearance since TI6, when he represented OG, while Enzo “Timado” O'Connor
represented Infamous in 2017 and DuBu represented Fnatic in TI9.
MoonMeander said that he was an experienced player who has
been at the top of two competitions, Heroes of Newerth and Dota 2. He further
said that he was winning Majors and then he plummeted to the depths of Dota. Now
that he is back at TI, he is going to tell his squad that no matter what
happens, do their best and don't look back. Because he experienced regrets at a
few of TIs.
Undying joins SG eSports, Team Spirit, and Fnatic as four of
the last six TI10 qualification teams, leaving just Europe and China to compete
on July 7th, 2021.
