Valve has announced the rosters for both groups, which will split all 18 teams into brackets and compete for a chance to advance to the main stage, only 24 hours before The International 10 kicks off with the group stage. Starting on October 7th and lasting through October 10th, each group will have nine rosters competing in a complete round-robin tournament, which means each team will play two games against the other teams in the group.
The top four teams from each group will be placed directly into the winner's bracket of the main event once all of the teams have completed their matches. The following four teams will still advance, but they are just one loss away from being ousted from the competition and being forced to compete in the loser's bracket for the main event. Each group's last-place roster will be removed from the competition altogether before the main event.
Thankfully, Valve and PGL collaborated with teams that were hit hard by COVID while preparing for TI in Bucharest, enabling players who tested positive to compete from their isolation rooms. Even if players need to self-quarantine, the event organizer has given them with the necessary equipment to compete.
With that in mind, here are the rosters that teams and spectators can expect to see as the TI10 group stage approaches.
