After a
thrilling victory over BT Excel in the final, Karmine Corp of the LFL is the
European Masters 2021 Spring champion. The best teams from European regional leagues played for the
trophy and recognition from LEC organisations. With a total of 28 teams playing
in the competition, the final battle for the trophy was between LFL champions
Karmine Corp and NLC champions BT Excel.
The European Masters is Europe's second-tier League's final tournament. The top 28 European teams compete for the title and a share of the €150,000 prize pool in this series. On different streams, the final match drew a total of 377,000 viewers, with the French broadcast leading the way.
Karmine Corp
and BT Excel performed admirably in the EU Masters tournament, but their routes
to the finals were very different. Karmine Corp and BT Excel were put in the
same group, where Karmine Corp dominated the competition, going 6-0. Whereas BT
Excel only began to pick up the pace in the playoffs.
Karmine Corp
appeared a little shakier in the playoffs than it did in the group stage, but
it still managed to beat AIM SE SuppUp in the quarterfinals and UCAM Esports
Club in the semifinals. BT Excel pulled off two major upsets, defeating Misfits
Premier and then mousesports.
The final
began with a massive brawl in which both teams were given the opportunity to
demonstrate their abilities. Karmine Corp quickly gained an advantage thanks to
Jakub “Cinkrof” Rokicki's excellent jungle control. It was clear that the two
teams were playing at nearly identical levels, making predicting the winner
impossible.
Karmine Corp
won three games in a row after losing the first game of the final, solidifying
their position as the best European regional team.
The President of France admitted in the brief message that he doesn't know much about League of Legends. He wanted to congratulate the LFL representatives for honouring the French flag in the scene after learning about their recent victory.
