TSM jungler Spica has been named the 2021 LCS MVP for his achievements during the season, despite just being in his second complete season as a professional League of Legends player. TSM finished first in the LCS regular season with a 30-15 record, thanks to Spica's leadership. TSM tied 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses for the most victories in the LCS during the Summer Split with 18.

Spica, on the other hand, has been a workhorse for TSM this season, having played in 81 games for the team since the start of 2021. According to League analytics site Games of Legends, Spica had a KDA of 3.7 and a kill participation ratio of 69.6 percent in those 81 games. Spica came into the 2021 season as one of the league's fresh-faced prodigies trying to make a name for himself. The emerging TSM jungler was featured in the LCS' branding campaign earlier this year alongside other young players like Team Liquid's Tactical and 100 Thieves' FBI as the focus of the league's "Made By Many" initiative.

TSM failed to qualify for the 2021 World Championship after losing to Cloud9 in the LCS Championship bracket quarterfinals last weekend. Despite their numerous victories during the regular season, TSM had to settle for fourth place in the LCS postseason. This season will be the first since 2015 that the LCS MVP will not be in attendance at the World Championship, with Spica winning the accolade just days after falling short of qualifying. Former Team Impulse jungler Rush was the last player to win the award and not qualify for Worlds.

At the start of next season, Spica and TSM will return to the LCS stage. TSM has signed the 20-year-old MVP jungler through the end of the 2022 professional season.
