Bot laner from G2 Esports, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has been awarded with the 2021 LEC Spring MVP. Rekkles added a trophy to his mantel after his first split with the famous organization. He won the MVP title despite G2 Esports not qualifying for the LEC Spring Finals after Rogue defeated G2 Esports in the lower bracket final. For the first time since 2018, G2 Esports has not qualified for the LEC final.

Since Rekkles and the rest of G2 Esports wanted to defend the LEC title, the MVP award most likely be a consolation reward for the Rekkles. The loss could be even more painful for Rekkles, who entered G2 in the hopes of winning another domestic title, but despite his best efforts this season, that dream will have to wait until the next split.

Even though LEC trophy will be crowned by a new team this split, Rekkles has done everything in his power to take G2 Esports all the way. While this is Rekkles’s first split with G2 Esports, he has been a consistent force in the bot lane. Rekkles has led in kills and damage in almost every game G2 Esports has played this split. He scored 101 kills during the regular split, which was only surpassed by Rogue bot laner Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, who had 103 kills.

Rekkles also had the best KDA in the league during the regular season, with a whopping 12.6. The KDA alone demonstrates that Rekkles is as dependable as ever and may even reach a higher peak this year. For now, Rekkles will take a break before the start of the 2021 LEC Summer Split because he will not represent Europe at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational.
