Astralis mid laner Carl "MagiFelix" Bostrom has extended his contract with the firm for the remainder of 2021.
Former mid-laner Erlend "Nukeduck" Holm, who had
to step down due to personal reasons, had been replaced by MagiFelix in
February. As the 2021 LEC Spring Split for Astralis has concluded, the team
decided to retain MagiFelix but the Nukeduck’s contract has been terminated.
Nukeduck joined the team in 2018 as one of the first members
when Astralis Group acquired the Origen brand. Later, Origen brand has been
changed to Astralis. Nukeduck has not revealed his next plan but it seems like
he will be taking a break at least until the summer split.
For MagiFelix, he gets the chance to play the entire LEC
split when summer begins. Even with his help, the Astralis could not qualify
for 2021 LEC Spring Split Playoffs but managed to improve over the last weeks
of splits. Astralis ended the regular split with three wins over SK Gaming, Vitality,
and MAD Lions. The end of the split gave Astralis and its fans plenty of new
hope for a summer split playoffs.
