After an amazing rookie year in the league, Cloud9's top lane superstar Fudge has received the 2021 LCS Most Improved Player title. Fudge joined C9 in the beginning of 2021, much to the dismay of North American League of Legends supporters who believed the team would keep experienced North American superstar Licorice for the Spring Split. The 19-year-old had spent the previous year with the organization's Academy squad, where he and his teammates had dominated the competition throughout the year.

In 2021, Fudge came out swinging with trash talk directed at the region's opponents, eager to create a name for himself in his debut tournament in North America. He struggled to find his feet against some of the league's more experienced top laners, like as Huni, Ssumday, and Alphari, at the 2021 LCS Lock-In. Many analysts were wary of how well he'd adapt to the LCS style of play and game pace after a lackluster debut.
Fudge's ambition to improve as a player was unaffected, and
he went right into the Spring Split, when he began his incredible journey to
popularity. According to Oracle's Elixir, he improved his play with each
passing week, and by the time the playoffs rolled around, he had shown a lot of
promise as a prominent member on a star-studded squad, with the second-highest
KDA in his role throughout the regular season.
Fudge carved his name in the minds of League fans with his
efforts against some of the finest in the world at the 2021 Mid-Season
Invitational. Whether he was solo killing Khan or winning a team fight versus
Royal Never Give Up with a spectacular Lee Sin kick, the focus was on him and
it hasn't gone away.
Fudge's development throughout the course of the year is
something that many LCS fans haven't seen in a long time, and it should be an
interesting tale to follow as he continues to flourish in the area. He came in
with a bang, but if he wants his side to make it to the finals again, he'll
have to unleash a few more explosions.
On Thursday, August 19th, you can see Fudge and
the rest of C9 in action when they hit the stage against Evil Geniuses.
