With the signing of 'ALEX' & 'mezii', fnatic will move to an international roster in their Counter Strike squad for the first time since 2013.

The two players, both formerly of the infamous "Colossus" team that Cloud9 attempted to put together towards the end of last year. Whilst the Colossus project failed to have any big returns for Cloud9, performing adequately at best, clearly fnatic see more potential in these two names, adding them to their starting roster. This leaves fnatic with KRIMZ, Brollan & Jackinho from the Swedish side of the team, and mezii & ALEX adding a little slice of the United Kingdom to the side. This means that fnatic will switch to using English as the primary language in team communications, the same they started within their academy team, known as 'fnatic Rising'. Hopefully this will not prove too problematic in the communication between the players in the seconds that matter most on the server.

Since Cloud9 without much grace simply shuttered their CSGO division after Colossus, mezii has found success within the team Endpoint, where he enjoyed good personal results in the majority of their matches, whilst ALEX has not been associated with any team since Cloud9, which imploded its team in April of this year.

The players mezii & ALEX replace, which are JW & Golden are now officially benched with fnatic. This means they may turn up in other teams relatively soon, given the pedigree of both players, and the valuable experience they'll have gotten with a stint in such a renowned team in CSGO like fnatic. fnatic's Chief Gaming Officer, as well as its co-owner, Patrik Sattermon has recently been quoted as stating "As long as CS is out there and is a competitive game, with people who care about it and great players to pick up, fnatic is here to be a top contender." fnatic is the second most successful team in Counter-Strike majors, and whilst it is still a known team amongst followers of esports for these particular games, their performance at events has collapsed in recent memory since their last large win at ESL Pro League Season 11, which ended a little over a year ago in April of 2020. Since then, the team has struggled in all manner of areas in-game, and often can't even manage to work out solutions to opponents' tactics in an even slightly convincing manner. Something the Chief Gaming Officer will surely be hoping is finally rectified by the shakeup in the team.
