The Dallas Fuel chose to bind bits of the past to create a new future during the Overwatch League offseason.

Head coach Yun “Rush” Hee-won was recruited from the Paris Eternal, and a “reunion” of players from the storied Overwatch Contenders Korea team Element Mystic was organized. Rush gradually built a table of talented players who had previously worked with the team, concentrating on confidence and synergy.

Luckily for Rush and Fuel fans, all of those players are well-known and have already established themselves in the Overwatch League in 2020.

The Dallas Fuel have objectively never looked better after a full overhaul of the squad and likely saving as much money as possible.

Although the roster looks impressive on paper, the only way to know how Element Mystic 2: Electric Boogaloo will do in 2021 is to watch Overwatch League matches.

TANK:

Lee “Fearless” Eui-seok, the Shanghai Dragons' main tank, was integral in the team's success in 2020, clearing the way for his talented DPS players.

This year, his job with the Dallas Fuel is likely to remain the same. Fearless is best known for his Winston games, but he also knows a lot of tanks and should be a good fit for the Fuel.

Choi “Hanbin” Han-been, a former Paris Eternal off-tank, had a fantastic 2020, highlighting his stellar Sigma play as the hero grew in popularity.

Hanbin and Fearless may be one of the best duos in the league, given that he's another tank with a large hero pool.

SUPPORT:

The Dallas Fuel scooped up Element Mystic alumni from all over, including the Houston Outlaws.

Main support Lee "Jecse" Seung-soo and flex support Kim "Rapel" Jun-keun, this year, both the team's former healers, switched sides to the Fuel. On the Outlaws, the pair was underwhelming, but they could do much better under Dallas' coaching staff.

Despite never having played for the Element Mystic before, Flex support Kwon "Fielder" Joon, formerly the "200 ping king" of the Paris Eternal, has been invited to the reunion.

Fielder has only ever competed on South Korean servers, offering picture-perfect Ana sleep darts despite massive lag. We're excited to see what he can do now that he has a reliable link.

DPS:

Only one member of the 2020 Fuel roster made it through the rebuilding process: flex DPS Kim “Doha” Dong-ha.

Kim “SP9RK1E” Yeong-han, a former Paris Eternal prodigy who defeated enemy teams on Doomfist and Genji last year, will join him.

Doha and SP9RK1E will have to keep down the DPS line for the time being. Hitscan ace Jung “Xzi” Ki-hyo has temporarily retired from professional baseball, due to health problems, leaving the Fuel without a McCree or Ashe player.

Dallas would almost certainly replace him, but his absence at the start of the season is crucial.

2021 Outlook:

The true rivalry in any match, according to team fans, is “Dallas vs. Fuel.”

This all-star roster, which has built-in confidence thanks to a promising history with Element Mystic, is the only thing that can save the Fuel's credibility.
