As the second group of this years first Pro League tournament, FURIA, FaZe & ENCE and going through to playoffs, whilst Vitality, Sprout & Outsiders will go home with a handful of prize money as congratulations for getting through their 5 matches.
The joint best performing teams were FURIA & ENCE, who both reached 4 wins across 5 matches, landing them straight into the top 3 without much concern. However for FaZe, the journey was much more fraught, and for a while relied upon Outsiders losing a match to Vitality, which came to fruition just as needed. FaZe went through on 3 wins to 5 matches. Just one team managed to lose all matches, Sprout, who just 2 maps across 12 that they played, and much like Group A, there were no teams who won all matches.
For FaZe, things started out very grim indeed, in their first match they lost 1-2 to ENCE, and then went 0-2 against Outsiders, the name Virtus.pro chose when ESL required them to enter a neutral name due to events in Ukraine. Thankfully from that point onwards, they won the next 3 matches, going 2-0 against both Sprout & Vitality, and their final match of the tournament against FURIA went 2-1. ENCE had a great run from the start, where they 2-1'd FaZe, and 2-0'd Vitality & Outsiders in succession, their only loss was at the hands of the top team in the group, FURIA which was a close 1-2 match, before finally squashing Sprout's dream of winning a single match, 2-1. Lastly, we'll look at FURIA, who despite some close maps through their matches, topped the team when accounting for round differences between themselves and ENCE, who were second in the group. FURIA won all 4 of their first 4 matches, going 2-1 to Outsiders, Vitality & ENCE, and seeing off Sprout in a 2-0 match, with their only loss being their last match against FaZe that went 1-2.
Next up is Group C, where GODSENT, BIG, Movistar Riders, Party Astronauts, Liquid & Players will go head to head to try landing themselves in the playoffs. The matches start on Wednesday 23rd of March, at 1130 GMT/UTC time, with Party Astronauts vs Players. If you're confused as to who Players are and how they landed in Pro League, they are the name Gambit chose to compete in Pro League with this season, after they were hit with similar restrictions that Outsiders (Virtus.pro) also faced.
