Another act in South East Asia.

Indonesian organization BOOM Esports after missing out on the Singapore Major has decided to seek its third carry in four months.

In January, initial recruitment to the Dota 2 roster included Andrew “Drew” Halim as they had the departure of Randy “Dreamocel” Sapoetra in December 2020. But now, BOOM Esports parts ways with Drew on March 4th, 2021.

The Southeast Asia Regional league upper division finished fifth with the Indonesian carry player playing just one tournament with the team. In the second season, the team stayed in the upper division but failed to qualify for the Singapore major.

The Indonesian club is the third team to stand in the upper division in the Southeast Asia Regional League to switch out players followed by T1 releasing Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong even after qualifying for Dota Singapore Major and TNC Predator releasing Kim “Febby” Yong-min and Damien “kpii” Chok.

The upcoming season of Regional Leagues is so important that it made many teams acquire as many gains as possible which also includes revamping rosters. In The International 10, open qualifiers will not be held which boasts a record-breaking $40 million prize pool. As per the terms of Dota Pro Circuit points, if a team does not fall under the top 12 rankings, then the only way to enter The International 10 is through a regional qualifier which will include remaining teams in each Regional League but will have just one slot per region.

BOOM continues to be in the Regional League even if they get relegated in the next season. But the same assurance isn’t applied to other lower division teams. There will be a flurry of players being transferred to continue across the region in a cutthroat bid to eke out the slightest over regional rivals.
